Hello! Yes, you can dispose of the red topper as it does not need to be put back in after use. While you do not necessarily need to store them upside down, storing them upside down in the ColorCase is a great way to avoid air bubbles so you do not get unintentional splats while you're doing precision detailing. Also, another tip is to lightly tap under where you placed a Pops drop, to create a nice, smooth, round drop rather than a pointed drop. You will find that a good quality stencil may stain but this should not affect your next product. The stain should not be passed from your first mixed media work onto whatever you do next. Hello, Pops of Color are a bit different than acrylic paints. We think that the outcome would be different from that of using acrylic paints. However, we are not certain, as this is not something we have tested. When dried, the Pops of Color have a consistency/texture similar to an enamel dot. It is kind of like puffy paint. No, they will be fine. I keep my home around the same temperature as you do and, aside from them not being self-leveling, as a number of reviews have stated, they have not melted or become to liquid like. I only tried out a couple of Pops so far. It seems like the amount that comes out is more than Liquid Pearls (I couldn't get the dots as small as I did with Pearls). The ones I tried did not seem as pearlescent either and did not seem as hard when it dried. I probably should have only bought one to try, but I bought a set of 14 (and THEN they went on sale for $5 more off). But I will use them up with my grandchildren. Unless the projects in the future are better with them that I expect, I will go back to using Liquid Pearls as my liquid dimensional of choice. The Pops of Color have a fine tip. Therefore, it will naturally want to peak with this type of tip. However, these were designed to manipulate to create the desired shape that is wanted. Much like cookie decorating. They will dry hard to the shape that is created. Nuvo Crystal Glaze dries clear. This particular Pops of Color Pearl Satin does not dry clear. It is more of a real "pearl" color. We do have a Pops of Color that is Clear and dries clear. Hi. I haven't had an issue with any of the colors I own (Summer & Christmas), but I always have vegetable glycerin on hand for my paints. Try experimenting using a "speck" of glycerin on your finger tip, or the tip of a clean, round toothpick, to smooth it out. Another trick, whenever my liquid embellishments are nearing the end of their usefulness: place your silicone, or non-stick mat on a baking tray. Create your drops. If they are not settling to your liking, take your baking tray to a kitchen counter, and using both hands (one at each end of the tray), lightly tap the tray on the counter to help them settle (Almost like you would be making macaroons) ...also use a touch of glycerin if needed. EXPERIMENT, EXPERIMENT, EXPERIMENT.
All products are different. They react differently depending on the environment, storage, season, age, etc. I, personally, like these, and always put the red stopper back in place when storing them.

Yes, once you have the product down on your project you can tap the back either on your work surface or by flicking the back, as shown in the video, or you can twist your wrist as if you were using frosting to help keep the point from forming.
